One Another Devotion - Day 21
Hebrews 10:24-25 New King James Version 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
As I sat down to read the verse in my Bible and then start on the devotion, the first thing I saw was that in the past I had underlined and put in parenthesis this verse. So I knew it is important to me.
Earlier in the week I was talking to Rose Romero, who is the SoKM (School of Kingdom Ministry) leader and told her I was having SoKM withdrawals from not meeting together for such a long period of time over the Christmas break between semesters. We agreed we should get the class members together to break bread and hear what God was doing in our lives. Just the kind of time as the verse says - to exhort one another, to build up faith and stir up love.
Just when I was sitting down to write, my phone notified me that there was a message. I looked and at just that time Zema Chambers wrote to offer her home for our SoKM class to meet in. What a wonderful way to share and bring the word to life by coming together to encourage and build each other up. When God, Jesus and Holy Spirit grace the PLACE how can it be any better?
And now I remember why I underlined this verse. How can we live without each other?
1. Where do you find community that encourages you and where you encourage others?
2.Why is community like this so important?
3. If you aren’t involved in a Small Group community that encourages you, what can you do to change that?
