One Another Devotion - Day 33

One Another

A Joyful Noise

Steve Tatum

Ephesians 5:19-21 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.

Worship is what gears me up and sets my mind up for the message to come. When I show up for church my mind is usually thinking about the stuff that doesn’t really matter. What do I need to get done at work tomorrow? Will I have time to get the yard mowed and a bike ride in before dark? Will I have time to get the house picked up before everyone gets there? I am NOT a songbird. Can’t carry a tune at all. My kids used to ask me to stop singing when they were little.

But I still love to sing. It clears my mind and lightens my soul. Bring on the word! No one in church has ever asked me to stop singing. I guess I define, A Joyful Noise!

Are you willing to put things aside and enjoy worship at church?

Can you find time in your day today to worship God by singing?
