Welcome Home! It sounds good to just say that. I’ve missed you! It will be great to be together again.
We are re-opening the church building for services this Sunday, May 31st at 10 am.
We are following the guidelines set by by the Mesa County Health Department and the CDC. We’ve made some changes and I’d like you to know a bit of what to expect.
The chairs are set in the auditorium in sections that are 6 feet apart. It looks a little different, but hey, we’ll all be together in the same room so its okay!
We have sanitized everything. Really, everything.
The Guest Services team will open the doors for you and do all they can to serve you and minimize the spread of germs.
Wearing masks as you arrive and leave or move about the building is recommended. Remember - we love one another, so be gracious to those who are on the other side of the mask debate.
Elementary aged kids will be meeting in the Community Room. Sign in will be handled by our Children’s Ministry team. All snacks will be pre-packaged for the kids. Lots of hand sanitizer is available in the Community Room!
We do not have rooms open for infants, toddlers, or pre-schoolers yet. We do have a TV now in the nursery so you can go in there with your young children and they can play while you, kind of, watch the service that will be live- streamed in there. We’re working on another solution to this. And of course, the Cry Room is still an option for you and your children.
Middle School and High School students will remain in the service with the adults. Merlinn is putting together a great schedule of events for these kids that will occur on other days of the week.
We will have bottles of water available at church, but for now, that’s all. Please be sure to eat breakfast (no snacks will be served at church) and bring some coffee with you for a few weeks. A coffee bar will be opening up soon!
Finally, if you are not feeling well, or you are in one of the protected or higher-risk categories of people, we encourage you to stay at home and watch our Sunday service on-line. We will continue to offer the on-line Sunday service and want you to know that your attendance on-line is important to us so that you can remain connected to the church family.
Thank you for your commitment and support during this pandemic time while we’ve been separated and had to move all of our communication and connections to on-line. Also, a big thank you to the team of people who helped make everything work on-line! From taking care of tech needs to hosting Zoom meetings, to creating digital forms, and more, along with being live on Sunday mornings to bring you the service - I’ve been blessed by a great team and I’m very grateful for each one of them!
I’m so happy that I got to see a number of you on Zoom calls. But now, I look forward to seeing you, in person, on Sunday at church.
With love, Pastor Chalane
